How Low CAN they go...

Most of us watch movies such as "Office Space" and the like and we say, "no job is really like that". To me... I truly believed that all employers were somewhat simialar. I mean of course there's variation but ,generally speaking, with labor laws and unions and so forth its not like the Dark Ages or anything... or is it! As you may or may not know I work for Securitas U.S.A. a security guard company. Now, before I go any further, I want to say my actual job is simplicity in itself. I literally get paid to do absolutely nothing. I read, do crossword puzzles, study for my Classes, and generally just try to stay awake. so the actual "work" isn't my problem...no my problem is My employer!
there is no doubt in my mind that Securitas has a big book or binder titled "how to screw over your employees" and its probably a multi-volume set! When I 1st left my old job to come to Securitas, I stated that I need to make no less than $9/hour. Now Securitas was advertiseing for as much as 10 an hour so I didn't think this particularly greedy on my part. I was told by the people that hired me that "Sure no problem.. we have plenty of positions that make that and some that make more" ok... so to make a long blog short... I get hired, and BANG... no such jobs exist... I end up making 7 an hr. screw over #1
fine I adapt and move on. then Securitas as a problem...they can't keep anybody employed at my post(cause the pay sucks) so its a revolving door(like 150% turnover rate at 1 damn post) that the upper-ups don't feel the need to do anything about, so the bottom line... I end up having to work for 4 months without any off days and a few 12 hr shifts thrown in just to make me really unhappy. screw over #2
Securitas employees do not get off for holidays. Unless your off days happen to fall on it. you can't even request off for vacation on holidays. screw over #3
now As I approaced my 1 year anniversary of being employed by Securitas I asked about my yearly raise...thinking that I would recieve one to cover cost-of-living increase, inflation, and Oh my fucking GAWD the rising cost of Gas! Guess what... No raise. instead you have to fill out 3 "study guides" and read 3 books and then you get to take 3 tests and then if you pass...MAYBE... you get your piddly ass lil raise!!! screw over #4
now after my 1 year anniversary I became eligible for vacation. one would think this would be cause for celebration right...WRONG! I got an extra check in with my usual(pathetic) amount that said, "Vacation check". and I thought, "mmm this is odd". Now in all my previous work expeirence when you put in for vacation it gets added to your check so that you dont' come up short and not be able to pay bills and so forth... also... usually you would get 2 weeks of vacation at most Hourly type jobs. well Securitas doesn't do that. when you take a vacation day... you just don't get paid. that kinda defeats the purpose of "PAID vacation" in my book. in addition I only got Paid for 36 hrs. 36 hours is only 4 and a half work days. what the fuck??? 4 and a half. if they'd made it an even 40 hrs... at least I'd understand...but 36 hrs!!! I guess what I am really trying to say is...GAWD, I hate these fucking Assholes!!!

Week-O-Hell

wow. I am so frackin' glad that is over. for like the last 2 weeks I have been studying my ass off for midterms(I figure about 16 actual hrs of my life), writing papers, and generally not having any fun at all:( I turned my paper in on time...go me! I think I aced my Brit. Lit. midterm, once again GO ME! I would have done REMARKABLY better on my History midterm if I had been able to get ANY sleep! I woke up at 10 am Wed. and did not get any sleep till Friday morning 6am!!! that's 44 hrs! I did manage to sleep till almost 2 oclock and now I feel like a human being again instead of a zombie. Also the History teacher screwed me by telling us in class a certain question was going to be on the test and then forgetting to put it on their!!! oh well... I've got a strong "A" in that class... I don't think I did THAT poorly... but it sucked just a lil bit having studied the wrong material.
speaking of things that suck... I had a terrible Pizza Hut expierence this week. The waitress sat us on the side of the building where all the families with all thier stupid annoying frackin' kids sit. this disgruntled me much... its bad enough having to share the resturant with them!! why can't these bastards go to CiCi's and leave me alone!!! lil kids deserve pizza that taste like cardboard!!! they deserve it, the lil heathen bastards... I deserve good pizza...NOT them!! grrrr
well now that midterms are over I have nothing going on academically for the entire month of March. I am, however, going accomplish some things ahead of schedule

yes well I intend to do the papers that are do in both my classes in March instead of April(which is a VERY busy month for me academically speaking)!! I also need to do my taxes... which is why having a job where you have absolutely NOTHING better to do is nice!!! and then I have to take this stupid test for Securitas(bastards) so that I can finally get a piddlyAss raise. GAWD how I hate Securitas!!! well that is what HAS been happening in my life... and what will happen for the next forseeable future. I have been negelecting my gaming... I shall now catch up on that. after I make a sandwhich...or 2 :)
